The DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship) Australia have changed the term "seasonal work" in Schedule 1 & 2 of the act to "specified work".
The effect of this change is that people on Australian working holiday visas who wish to continue their stay and apply for a second working holiday visa, must have carried out "specified work" in regional Australia for at least 3 months. The actual jobs and industries to be included in the definition of "specified work" are to be outlined in a new document called an "instrument of writing".The changes will apply to any working holiday visa application made on or after July 1, 2008.
